The “meaningful dialogue project”, launched in May this year, aims to help companies put into practice meaningful dialogue with trade unions, civil society organisations and other stakeholders affected by business activities. “The aim of the project is to clarify what is meant by meaningful dialogue and, on that basis, help companies give substance to it.”
Arisa sees dialogue with civil society organisations and trade unions in South Asia, for example on risks of forced labour and how to address this, as an important part of corporate social responsibility. Companies currently fall short in this regard. Arisa contributes to this project by elaborating and analysing experiences of dialogue with companies and partner organisations in South Asia. Arisa is also involved in the advisory board group for this project.
